Providing intensive care for patients with the most severe injuries and illnesses is a St. Anthony Central Hospital strength, and one directly related to our internationally recognized trauma care capability. Care providers at all three St. Anthony Central Hospital work closely to assure each patient the level of care his or her condition requires, and transport to St. Anthony Central and the Level I Trauma Center is available by Flight For Life from the mountains as well as the metro area.
Dedicated intensive care units address the highly specific needs of surgical, medical and cardiac patients, and care teams are highly trained and experienced. Critical care intensivists—physicians specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care medicine—oversee patient care.Surgical ICU nurses average 14 years of experience and hold both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN) certification.
