Our Mission and Ministry at St. Anthony Central Hospital

Bob Eaton, Director of Mission and Ministry, holding a statue of St. Anthony, our hospital namesake.

We extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in our communities.

More than a century ago, the Poor Sisters of St. Francis had the vision to build a hospital to care for the sick and injured in their the growing Denver community. It was not an easy undertaking for the sisters, most of them new to America and speaking only German. Under the guidance of Sister Mary Huberta, they moved forward with their goal, drawing strength from St. Anthony, known as the wonder worker able to restore confidence in the timid and frightened.

Since the hospital's opening in 1893, this spirit is still very much a part of of St. Anthony Central Hospital and our mission to care for those in our community.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact Bob Eaton, Director of Mission and Ministry, at 303-629-4975.

Inspirational thoughts from Mission & Ministry
Philippians Two Too

Based on Philippians 2:5-11

Christ, it was always true for you, and it is just the same for me too.
It is only by being emptied that one is really ever freed.

Christ, you were able to obediently face the cross, but I am so often anxious and at such a loss.
Help me to know your chosen life of humility so that I may server you with all my ability.

Christ, who came to be God's servant, please let my prayer be so fervent.
That I may in every way proclaim the glory and power of your name.
